Why is Jesus Hidden?
Understanding the Mystery of God's Love for Us Today
In the final words of the Holy Gospel this past Sunday, we read, "Jesus hid Himself." These are the same words Holy Mother Church has proclaimed to her children for centuries on Passion Sunday; however, this year they mean more to us than ever before. Why is Jesus hidden from us today? Why is our Divine Savior veiled amid a pandemic?
To understand these perplexing and perhaps even frustrating circumstances in our world today, we must consider why our Divine Savior hid Himself then.
Our Lord hid Himself from His enemies, those agents of darkness that conspired to destroy Him, because "His hour had not yet come." He hid Himself also from those who wished only to use Him as a political ploy to smite their oppressors.
O my Jesus, I desire to receive Thee wholly and entirely, and I embrace Thee lovingly with all of my heart as if I already have.
O my Jesus, save us!

However, we forget sometimes that our Divine Savior hid Himself from His friends too. Why? It was not to abandon them. It was not to make them despair. It was for the same reason He is hidden from us now: it is to teach us to trust Him more and ourselves less, to rely entirely on His grace and not on our efforts. It is to repent of our sins, to plumb the real depths of our fidelity, and to purify our desire for Him as our Savior so we can be saved by Him, not ourselves.
My friends, in these difficult times in the world and in the Church, let us never forget that it is Jesus Christ who saves the world. It is Jesus Christ who saves the Church. He is hidden now just as He was in the Gospel, in order to strengthen our love for Him just before He would manifest His Divine Love for us upon the Cross.
The hour appointed by the Father for the Mystical Body of Christ, the Church, to be lifted up from the earth is not yet upon us. Therefore, let us prepare ourselves to embrace the Cross, our only hope for true deliverance. Let us prepare our hearts to suffer with Christ's on the Cross, for only if our hearts are united with Him in His Passion, they will then be truly united with Him in His glory.
This April, let us embrace the Cross, our only Hope. Through the Hope of the Cross, we will persevere in Faith in order that we may grow in Divine Charity, which alone gives us the joy to carry the Cross with Christ as long as He wills. Hidden from the world, let us persevere with Christ, who love us so much.

Friends and benefactors from around the United States donated over $50,000 collectively this past month to the Institute's Provincial Headquarters' Capital Campaign. These generous donations were then matched dollar for dollar by an anonymous donor, helping us to raise over $100,000 in March!
These funds will go directly to help the Institute continue building our U.S. Provincial Headquarters & Shrine of Christ the King as a Spiritual Stronghold in the world today. Thank you, and may Christ our King reward you eternally for your tremendous generosity!

A Message of Hope
"I am with you always."
Our Divine Savior promises us that even though we can't see Him at times, He is with us always, "even until the end of time." Never doubt His love.
Never doubt that our Lord is with you when you seek Him with humility and love. Never doubt that He is praying for you, blessing you with His grace, and calling you more deeply to trust Him.
We are praying for you every day in adoration of our Eucharistic Lord. We offer up the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass for you and your families. We offer our daily communions for all of you who are unable to receive the sacraments at this time, We pray for God's mercy on us all as we process with Him, and we extend His blessing upon you as we raise the Sacred Monstrance in benediction each day.
The Divine Love of our Lord's Sacred Heart is inviting our hearts to desire Him more ardently, more purely, and more completely. He loves you, and He wants you to trust His love always.
Let us pray, fast, and give alms to prepare our hearts for His.
