November News: The Hope of Reunion
The Hope of Reunion
Dear Friends in Christ our King,
In years gone by, people sometimes called the cemetery
God’s little acre
. Hollywood movies and media often depict cemeteries as scary, spooky places, where ugliness and evil lurks in dark shadows. But our faith also makes the cemetery a serious, but serene place of hope and peace.
A visit to the cemetery is a reality check. As we look at all the dates on the graves, as we visit the tombs of all the people you once knew, we are reminded that where they are now, we one day will be.
But this visit to the cemetery, to God’s little acre, also gives us hope. One day, we will be reunited with the loved ones we miss so much. In God’s little acre, we remember the past in order to better live our future. We grow to appreciate the time we have left here on earth.
If we misuse and abuse the time which is given to us now, we may lose all chance of ever being reunited with our loved ones again in heaven. We have one life to live and so let us live it well: for the glory of God, for the good of our neighbor, and for the sake of the loved ones gone before us.
Every prayer, every act of charity in word or deed, every patient word, brings us closer to our heavenly home, closer to that blessed company of the saints and loved ones who are waiting for us there!
Let us then go to the cemetery often especially this November. That visit may bring us to tears, but it will give us peace and reassurance, as we remember those words of Jesus:
Happy are they who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
Assuring you of my prayers, especially for intentions of the poor souls, I remain,
Yours faithfully in Christ our King,
Rev. Canon Matthew Talarico
U.S. Provincial Superior

A Word from the Sister Adorers
On October 12, seven new novices received the holy habit of the Adorers of the Royal Heart at their house of formation in Naples, Italy.

Offering Holy Mass
Our friend Julie from Arizona says it best...
"It was at the Mass celebrated by the priests of the Institute that I experienced the power of the Holy Spirit. That church, that sanctuary, became a beloved place in my heart.
